The Food Safety Challenge

At the Food Bug Club we are continuing to promote The Food Safety Challenge. Whilst our research is complete and the results being written up, we are still able to offer The Food Safety Challenge for schools to use.

Hundreds of children have taken The Food Safety Challenge – here’s what some of their teachers said:

“The pupils loved the session and gained knowledge of food safety that they will then use during the course. It was enjoyable and informative for me too!”

“My Year 10 students found the session particularly useful as it highlighted to them the importance of food hygiene and safety within the kitchen. The students were able to identify the hazards within a kitchen environment through the clicking challenge and were surprised by what they missed.”

“As a teacher, it was an invaluable tool to identify which areas of the GCSE specification need revisiting and to continue to emphasise the importance of food hygiene.”

“The students really enjoyed the lesson and the variety of activities. It was both fun and educational. The students commented really enjoyed the click challenge on the computer.”

The Food Safety Challenge

    • Tests and improves children’s understanding of how to store, handle and cook food correctly.
    • Has an intuitive Watch-&-Click video test with scores and feedback provided in real time, enhancing lessons and revision.

Why not get your year 7-11 students to take part?

Whilst you are in Food Bug Club, why not have a go at MicroTrumps online? There are two games, playable individually or in a group session, which help students learn about foodborne microorganisms, the problems that they cause and how the health risks they pose can be reduced.
